The book Trash, author Andy Mulligan, the mystery continues as Raphael and Gardo finds a wallet which is traced to a crime. Police started to question the people who lived in the dumpsite, both Raphael and Gardo were worried as Raphael's auntie said "Raphael found something" as seen on page 12. As it goes on they had to hide it, Raphael had an idea where they would hide it with a boy named Rat. He is known for living with the rats and looks like a rat since he could move quickly without people noticing. The police would give 10,000 pesos to anyone who finds it and to families all over the dumpsite , but Raphael doesn't believe that they would give it just like that. When they arrived at Rat's place there was a ID card who belongs to Jose Angelico, map, picture of his daughters and a key. Rat knew what it was in an instant, since he lived in the train station. He knows all the routes and how long the trains work for.
The police corruption in the book is a sentence where they were just wadding around with notes in it which shows that they prove they will pay. Where they also would tear and destroy every house until they would find it, since the people can't do anything about it.
The dangers of poverty in the dumpsite when one boy lost an arm looking through the dump site and didn't seem to realise another what 40 kilograms of dump was going towards his arm. One of the quotes Gardo says is that they pile around the top of the trash and grab what ever they could and would get scratches, scars and bruises on themselves grabbing the goods to sell.
